A TAPESTRY OF SOUND
The sprawling landscape of ambient has covered a lot of ground since Brian Eno coined the term in the 1970s. Today, its strands extend to post-rock, downtempo, EDM, and beyond. Ambient pioneers like Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada – with their use of melodic texture, hypnotizing rhythms, and analog beats – were instrumental in blurring genre lines by opening up the many worlds of experimental music – from dark and melancholic retro soundscapes to woozy, smudged house and techno.

Please note that this update requires MASCHINE 2.7.2 only supported by Mac OSX 10.11 or newer.
ADDED BATTERY 4.1 Kits
Following the curation of the original MASCHINE kits, BATTERY 4.1 kits were created from the unprocessed samples. Sounds within a kit produced by MASSIVE, MONARK, REAKTOR PRISM or a MASCHINE Drum Synth were resampled for use in BATTERY 4.1. Several specially curated kits were also created for BATTERY 4.1, such as all kicks within an expansion.
ADDED Audio Loops
Exported from individual MASCHINE kit patterns, consisting of single elements and combinations, these audio loops are specially curated to provide authentic building blocks for the music genre.
